The Capital District Scottish Games literally has something for everyone. The following is a sampling of the many things that you may expect to encounter as you wander the grounds.

Children's Corner
There will be pony rides, a bounce house, petting zoo, and the Games2U Mobile Game Theatre (http://www.g2u.com) both Saturday and Sunday!  And this year on Sunday come try out the GIANT HAMSTER BALL (http://www.g2u.com/product/GiantHamsterBall).

We also have "Children's Events" that start at 1 pm each day.  These events are open to children 3 and up and include a junior caber toss, a hool-a-hoop contest, a piper lead parade and much more!  The kids love it!

All children’s events are FREE!

Soldiers of Scotland
Look for the military historians display located in the clans area dressed in a variety of uniforms . . . expect to learn just about everything from ancient warriors to the modern day soldier.

Irish Step Dancing
Be sure and check the schedule on the day of the Games so you don't miss the Irish Dancing demonstrations. Dancers from the Boland School of Irish Dance, who compete in local, regional and international competitions, will display their talents at various times (http://www.bolandschool.com).  On Sunday we welcome the Kelly School of Irish Dance.

The Living History of Swords
Award-winning author and historic lecturer Scott Ian Barry, is proud to announce the advent of a unique lecture series: Rob Roy and the Living History of Swords.  Through his dramatic approach to educating the public, Barry appears like a vision out of the ages, authentically dressed as the 18th century patriot, Rob Roy MacGregor, who was considered the greatest swordsman in all Scotland.

Tartans
See the many colorful tartans representing the various clans of Scotland. For each, a representative will be available to discuss its history in the Clans area.

Raptors of NY Wildlife Rescue Center

A new attraction this year are the educational birds of prey from the NY Wildlife Rescue Center.  Falconry has a long history in Celtic traditions.  This will be a great opportunity to get up close with some amazing hawks, owls and falcons.  This is sure to be a crowd favorite!
